Frequently Asked Questions
Check-in for treehouse stays occurs between 3 PM and 7 PM. We strongly discourage arrivals after 7 PM for your safety and comfort, as navigating the terrain at night requires additional staff support. Each arrival includes a personalized check-in experience that allows you to slow down, explore the lodge, and ease into the quiet magic of Juniper before heading to your treehouse.
Please keep the check-in window in mind when planning your travel, and contact us if your schedule does not allow for arrival during these hours. We welcome and encourage early luggage drop-off regardless of your check-in time.
Juniper is a staffed lodge, and our team will be here to welcome you. When you arrive, park in the guest parking lot and unload your luggage in the designated drop-off area at the base of the steps. Then head to the front door and ring the doorbell—someone will greet you and guide you through the check-in process.
About two weeks before your stay, you’ll receive an email with detailed arrival information, including how to reserve your check-in time slot.
Early check-in and late check-out aren’t guaranteed, but we do our best to accommodate requests whenever our schedule allows. You’re always welcome to drop off your bags early and relax in the lodge while your treehouse is being prepared. If there isn’t an event scheduled on your departure day, you’re also welcome to continue enjoying the lodge amenities after check-out.
Yes. Luggage transportation is provided for all treehouse stays during check-in (3 PM–7 PM) and check-out (8 AM–11 AM). If you need assistance outside these hours, please let us know.
Evergreen is typically snow-covered from January through early April, though snowstorms can arrive anytime between October and May. While we keep the trails and lodge grounds maintained, winter stays mean embracing a true mountain experience—so come prepared for snow and cold weather.
We provide complimentary YakTrax to help you safely walk to and from your treehouse, and we recommend bringing boots, hats, and gloves. Please also keep our luggage assistance hours in mind to avoid hauling bags in the snow. Each treehouse is fully equipped with central heat, so you’ll stay cozy no matter the season.
Juniper offers a variety of add-on food and beverage packages, available with at least 24 hours’ notice. Each treehouse includes a microwave, mini fridge, freezer, and basic dishes—perfect for preparing simple meals or snacks.
If you’d rather dine out (or in), several local restaurants are just a short drive away, and two offer delivery directly to the main lodge. You’re welcome to enjoy your meal in your treehouse, by the firepit, or in the lodge’s common spaces.
Yes—unless a private event is taking place. We highly encourage treehouse guests to spend time at The Lodge at Juniper, just a short walk down the trail. The Lodge features shared amenities for all Juniper guests, including a hot tub, honor bar, firepit, games, books, merchandise for purchase, and more.
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance will be automatically charged to your card 14 days before check-in for treehouse stays. Any on-site purchases made during your stay will be charged at check-out.
Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel at least 14 days before your check-in date. Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival are non-refundable.
The Treehouses at Juniper have a strict no-smoking policy inside the treehouses, on the decking, and around the trail system. We are in an extremely high-risk forest fire area, so we take this policy very seriously! Vaping is permitted but anything with an ash or open flame is not.
Smoking is only allowed in the paved parking lot.
Juniper is an adults-only property. All overnight guests must be 18 or older, and the minimum age to check in is 21. This allows us to preserve the calm, restorative experience Juniper is designed for.
Need overnight childcare while you’re here?
Babysitters of Boulder serves Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins and the surrounding areas. All sitters complete a personal interview, CPR Certification and background check, and the agency is registered with the state and insured. Babysitters Of Boulder was locally founded in 2018 and is woman-owned. Childcare arrangements are made directly with the agency.
Yes! Dogs and cats are welcome in two of our lodge rooms (Boxelder and Evergreen) for a $35 pet fee per pet, per stay. Dogs should be house-trained and not left alone if they tend to bark — we want to make sure all guests can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
We do not allow dogs in the treehouses.
Juniper is a smoke-free property—including all indoor spaces, outdoor common areas, the deck, the hot tub, the treehouses, and the trail. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on-site except in the paved parking lot. If you do smoke, please be extremely cautious and dispose of cigarette butts properly—Colorado’s dry climate makes our forest very fire-prone. A $400 cleaning fee will be charged if smoking occurs in guest rooms to cover the cost of restoring them to a smoke-free state.
Juniper is designed to be a quiet, private retreat for our overnight guests, so we ask that you don’t invite outside visitors to the property unless pre-approved. If you’d like to have a friend or family member stop by during your stay, just check in with us ahead of time. We want to maintain a peaceful experience for everyone and keep the property secure.
Exceptions are made for small gatherings, elopements, or photo shoots—just let us know what you have in mind! Click here for more information about hosting an event or gathering at Juniper.

Nestled in the Rocky Mountain foothills, our boutique hotel offers a secluded, forested escape with easy access to city life, outdoor adventure, and iconic attractions.
We’re only 15 minutes from the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre, making us a favorite stay for concert-goers looking for peace and privacy after the show. Juniper Lodge & Treehouses is located about 45 miles west of Denver International Airport (DEN). The drive typically takes 50 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day. Our scenic mountain location is just far enough to feel like a secluded retreat, yet still easily accessible from the airport.
The best way to reach Juniper is by rental car, which gives you the most flexibility to explore Evergreen, Red Rocks, and the surrounding foothills. While Uber and Lyft do operate in the area, availability can be limited—especially in the evenings or outside peak hours. Some guests have experienced delays or long wait times with rideshare services, so we don’t recommend relying solely on them.
If you’re arriving late at night or don’t want to drive, a private airport shuttle or pre-scheduled car service may be another option. Feel free to reach out for local transportation recommendations—we’re happy to help you plan your route.
For more info on planning your trip, click here to visit our Explore page. If you’re attending a Red Rocks concert, Juniper is just a 15-minute drive from the venue.
We highly recommend having a car during your stay. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are not always reliable in our mountain area, especially late at night. Renting a car will give you the freedom to explore Evergreen and nearby attractions. If you do use a rideshare, we suggest scheduling your rides in advance due to spotty availability.
Our preferred private car vendor is West Wing Limo.

Whether you’re attending a legendary Red Rocks concert or just visiting the amphitheater during the day, Juniper Lodge & Treehouses is a top-rated hotel near Red Rocks for couples, solo travelers, and weekend adventurers.
Getting to Red Rocks from Juniper is simple:
- Drive south on CO-74
