Our Story
Operating as a beloved bed and breakfast for more than 25 years, Juniper is inspired by an enduring legacy of genuine Colorado charm. Though the business has operated under many names over the years, it was taken over by current owners Alea and Ashley LaRocque in 2019. Since acquiring the property, the pair have extensively remodeled and reimagined the guest experience, elevating the property’s design, amenities and hands-on hospitality. Most notably, in 2025, Juniper opened the brand’s first treehouses—becoming the first and only treehouse hotel in Colorado.

ALEA & ASHLEY
Originally hailing from Missouri and North Carolina, we know what it means to hear the call of the mountains. We’ve followed that call time and again, falling more in love with our Colorado home with each passing season. This love led us to purchase the property in August of 2019, and in September of 2020, we got married at Juniper! Here, we invite you to experience our take on Colorado hospitality, blending five-star service with laid-back mountain charm. Our priority is to ensure your stay is everything you dreamed of and more.
Meet Denali
THE LODGE DOG
Meet Denali, also known as “Nali,” our Cattle Dog and Corgi mix. Her favorite things are chasing squirrels and running through the snow. While she may initially bark if she sees you, it’s because she’s a rescue dog who’s had her share of challenges. Denali had given birth to 10 puppies before joining our family. She’s very shy, but there’s one exception: if you’re sitting on the green couch, she just might come over and let you pet her. If you’d like to meet her, let us know!
